• Notes

  Wodrow states that 'James Sittingtoun' "died there" referring to East Jersey. (Wodrow Vol IV, p338). 'James' appears to be the same person as 'Thomas'. Thomas is commemorated on the Nithsdale Martyrs’ Cross in Dalgarnock. 'Tho Litletoune' listed as 'not banished' in The Black Book of Kincardine, p10. Carsphairn parish records suggest that the name 'Sitlington' also appears as 'Siton' or 'Seaton'.
