• Notes

  Several sources have this William as the grandson of William Ged's brother Robert. This can be refuted by the Boog-Watson reference and NRS GD112/2/113/19: Neill Campbell (Netherlorn) papers which include (18) Discharge and renunciation by William Ged, goldsmith in Edinburgh, only son to deceased Mr William Ged, brother to the laird of Baldrig, to John, earl of Breadalbane, and Mr Archibald Campbell, of bond by deceased Lord Neill Campbell to Mr James Dundas and Mr James Armour of Amboy Perth, 14 February 1687, 11 July 1707.
